Woken at night by it
Opening up in my belly
A beautiful perfect
Orchid
Fresh long green tendrils
That snake in and out and up
Spiked petal
Opening up
On a bud of rage
Held tightly closed so long
Opening into soft tissue
Slicing membranes
Cutting you loose
Anger that is the ebb and flow
And seeping through the cracks to
Poison everything
It’s a ripple under the skin
And bursting cyst that ruins friendships
Nurtured on years of dissonance
Fertile rage
Deep and breathless
A fresh flower
Opening exquisite barbed petals
Rooted in dark ancient ground
Thick black to fresh green curling
Tendrils
Unleashing precisely and
On target
And messy, spewing everywhere
Beautiful perfect
Self aware
Reaches for the throat
And finds me waiting
Awake at night
